He is the recipient of National Merit Scholarships and Research Fellowship from DAE, Government of India and has successfully completed two Major Research Projects sanctioned by SERB, DST, Government of India and guided three Ph. D. students. Dr. Debnarayan Jana, M. Sc (Calcutta) Ph. D (Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru/degree from JNU, New Delhi) is a Professor of Physics in University of Calcutta since 2012. His current research is focused on defect studies in Annealed and Nano-annealed, ion-irradiated ZnO material.
